Attendance Allowance in a non means tested allowance for people over pension age who have a disability or illness severe enough to need assistance.

You could be eligible for £73.90 or £110.40 a week (2025/2026) depending on your health issues. The amount you get will depend on how much daily help you need. You can spend the money however you like and it could help you stay independent in your own home for longer.

To qualify for Attendance Allowance, you must have needed help for at least six months.  You can not claim for attendance allowance if you are already in receipt of PIP or DLA.

If you are awarded Attendance Allowance, you may also qualify for Pension Credit, Council Tax Reduction and Winter Fuel Payments.
